Certification Standard for Biodegradability

This standard ensures products degrade safely and efficiently in an aerobic environment, and confirms that chemicals are not building up in the environment to harmful concentrations before degradation occurs.

Transition period: Organizations seeking to get certified will be audited against Version 7.0 of the standard starting January 1, 2024. Existing certificate holders will transition to the new version of the standard starting at the latest January 1, 2025.
