Certification Standard for Carbon Neutral Entities, Buildings, Products, and Services

This standard (SCS-108) is applicable to entities, buildings, products, and services for which an organization wishes to demonstrate carbon neutrality. It provides a rigorous framework for demonstrating a credible commitment to carbon neutrality through the measurement, reduction, and ongoing management of greenhouse gas emissions. Certification against this standard requires organizations to minimize emissions where feasible, commit to continuous improvement, and compensate for remaining emissions through high-quality verified offsets. Certification enables organizations to credibly communicate their climate action efforts while supporting global initiatives to mitigate climate change and advance the transition to a lower-carbon economy.

Assurance System:

Conformance with SCS-108 requirements is assessed through annual audits conducted by SCS Global Services, a qualified and independent third party. Audits are conducted according to scheme-specific and relevant international standards.
