Description:

This standard (SCS-105) is applicable to flooring, building materials, and furniture products intended for long-term use in indoor environments. It provides a framework for evaluating indoor air quality performance through independent laboratory testing and verification of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. Certification against SCS-105 requires products to meet stringent indoor air quality criteria designed to limit occupant exposure to airborne chemicals. By enabling transparency for purchasers and consumers, certification supports healthier indoor environments and improved indoor air quality in homes, schools, healthcare facilities, offices, and other occupied buildings.

For complete information about all standard criteria, download "SCS-105 Indoor Air Quality V4.2" (see Documents section, to right).

Assurance System:

Conformance with SCS-105 requirements is assessed through annual audits conducted by SCS Global Services, a qualified and independent third party. Audits are conducted according to scheme-specific and relevant international standards. For full details about the SCS-105 assurance system, download “SCS-105 Certification Body Requirements” (see Documents section, to right).
