Description:
This standard ensures products are not animal-derived and do not contain any ingredient that is animal-derived. Plant-based products for human or animal consumption must have at least 95% of plant-derived ingredients in weight percentage in the finished product and plant-based body care products must have more than 50% of plant-derived ingredients in weight percentage in the finished product.
Transition Period: Starting January 1, 2024, all new audits shall be conducted against SCS Plant-Based Standard Version 1.3. Existing Certificate Holders are required to transition to the new version of the standard by the expiration date of their current SCS Plant-Based certificate.
