Certification Standard for Rigid Core Resilient Flooring

Version:

2.1

Status:

Final Standard

Description:

This standard (SCS-111) is applicable to rigid core flooring products. It provides a framework for verifying resiliency, product safety, performance, and indoor environmental quality through independent testing and evaluation. Certification against SCS-111 requires products to meet voluntary and regulatory requirements related to indoor air quality, rigidity, durability, performance, and low levels of heavy metals and ortho-phthalates. By supporting the use of safer flooring materials, certification helps create healthier indoor environments and gives consumers greater confidence in the products installed in their homes and buildings.

This standard was developed on behalf of the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI), read more here: https://rfci.com/assure-certified/

Assurance System:

Conformance with SCS-111 requirements is assessed through annual audits conducted by SCS Global Services, a qualified and independent third party. Audits are conducted according to scheme-specific and relevant international standards. For full details about the SCS-111 assurance system, download “SCS-111 Certification Body Requirements” (see Documents section, to right).
