Description:
This standard allows manufacturers of rigid core vinyl flooring to give their customers the highest level of confidence about the safety of rigid core vinyl flooring for their homes through certification by demonstrating that their products meet voluntary and regulatory building requirements for indoor air quality, rigidity, durability and performance, and low heavy metals and ortho-phthalates content.
Starting April 2026, organizations seeking to get certified to SCS-111 will be audited against version 2.1. Existing certificate holders can choose to recertify to the new version starting April 2026, and must transition to the new version by their next annual audit. At the latest, all certificate holders must be audited against version 2.1 by May 31, 2027.
